InDesign Intensive-Session Two - Sunday May 15th - 1pm to 4pm
All three days will have a one hour lunch break. The Book Store has a Café.
While it isn’t absolutely necessary to bring your laptop with Photoshop already installed on it to this class, it will certainly enhance your session if you do so*. You will be seated at tables where you can set up your laptop, and there are enough outlets to allow everyone to plug in if they need to. The screen from my computer will be projected onto a large wall screen, and every seat will have a clear view.
And what if you don’t already have Photoshop, Lightroom or InDesign on your computer?
Adobe wisely allows anyone who wants to the opportunity to download a FREE TRIAL of ANY of their applications so you can “try before you buy” (well to be technically correct, I should say “try before you rent” as that is Adobe’s software model moving forward). The download takes longer over wireless than over an ethernet connection, so if you can, connect your computer to your modem with an ethernet cable before initiating the download. Or just be patient. ;-)
The trial apps are completely functional for 30 days from the first time you launch it, so if you launch it within a week or two of the first class your trial will be still activated for the second class on April 25th (should you decide to attend). The second class builds on the first class.
In order to get your free trial, you do have to register some basic personal information with Adobe, by creating an Adobe User Account with a user name and a password, but no money is required at this time, and as soon as you sign up, it starts to download to your computer. The app will install on your computer and the first time you launch it you will be asked to register your installation with Adobe. This is when your trial period starts. If you wish to use Photoshop or Lightroom on your laptop during the class, it is imperative that you have successfully completed and tested your Photoshop installation before arriving, as we won’t have time to solve individual installation issues.
By the way...
All the Adobe Creative Cloud applications you might subscribe to automatically include a free trial of Adobe Bridge. We may briefly touch on using Bridge during the classes, so if you wish to, download this to your laptop too.
There will be the opportunity to ask questions as we work, and again for a brief period at the end.
I’m looking forward to meeting you there!
No electronic recording devices please.
